Students celebrate football and basketball season during pep rally and Trojan Madness

TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — Tuesday Night in Trojan Arena students got to showcase their school spirit during the Homecoming Committee’s annual Homecoming Pep Rally.

“It’s such a great time for students to come together with Greek Organizations, just to get an early kick to the Homecoming festivities,” Vice President of Internal Affairs Marcus Cooper said.

During the pep rally, Trojan Fans celebrated not only the football team, but also the Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams as they approach their opening season during what was called Trojan Madness.

“This was such a great event for students to just come out and show the school we love so much a great amount of appreciation and Trojan Pride,” Cooper told TrojanVision.

The pep rally wasn’t just fun and games, there was also a competition between Troy sororities to see who had the most school spirit. Students screamed, cheered and battled for the Spirit Stick, but in the end Phi Mu won.

“It feels amazing for our organization to win, the pep rally is Phi Mu’s favorite event,” said Phi Mu President Camille Trochessett. “Every single year, every single Homecoming we look forward to it. We just love nothing more than cheering for our Trojans, I just hope that everyone comes to the Vet this weekend to cheer on our Trojans at Homecoming.”

Another part of Tuesday’s event was the reveal of this year’s Mr. and Miss Trojan Pride. Those titles went to Isaiah Thomas and Jayden McQueen.
