TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — Saturday afternoon, in front of a packed homecoming crowd, Troy Football beat Coastal Carolina by a score of 38-24.
“The Vet was unbelievable tonight,” said head coach Gerad Parker. “The people to show up for us on a homecoming crowd and bring the energy they brought for this football team when it’s been a rough year just shows you what thus fan base is and why we believe it’s one of the best in the country.”
With the win over the Chanticleers, Troy secured its first Sun Belt win of the season.
“It feels great,” said Parker. “I told some of the guys those feelings were even better than some of the ones in all of the history of my coaching career because of how good it feels for everybody else.”
The Trojans were a two-headed monster on the ground with running backs Gerald Green and Damien Taylor each rushing for over 100 yards and a touchdown.

“Those two backs simply just ran with physicality and effort,” Parker said. “It just shows what Troy’s about. A tough, physical group of men.”
The Trojans will be on the road in Statesboro and Lafayette for their next two games before returning home to close out the season against Southern Miss.
“We’re going to ride the wave of momentum but the messaging and everything we’re doing is the same,” Parker said. “Our goal is to improve on Tuesday’s practice, prepare, and put ourselves in the best position to win games.”
