TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — It’s close to that time where students and faculty pack up and join family and friends for Thanksgiving Break. Here’s what some students and faculty are thankful for this year.
After weeks of classes, meetings and tests, students are preparing to leave for Thanksgiving break. As the holiday season kicks off, students think back on what they’re thankful for.
“I’m thankful for Troy University,” said junior Caleb Smith. “I’m not originally from the area but I have loved all three years I have been here already. It has given me a lot of opportunities that I never could have imagined and I’m just thankful for a beautiful campus that we have and a beautiful school that has grown me so much.”

One student said he is thankful that he gets to go home for a brief break.
“I’m am very thankful that I’m able to go home since I’m so far away,” said student Noah Miller. “I’m from Pennsylvania so I’m very excited to reconnected with my family and friends back home.”
Students aren’t the only ones who have something to be thankful for this year.
“I’m really thankful for my family, my friends their always supportive,” said TUPD officer said Tatyana Lee. “I’m also thankful for my coworkers, if I ever need anything their there for me, their here to support me in any kind of way, and I’m here to support them as well.”
“I am thankful for the family, I’m thankful for the opportunity to be teaching at Troy,” said associate marketing professor Dr. Frank Thompson. “The amazing students that I get to be with everyday and to see their progress.”
As the semester nears its end, one student is thankful for what’s to come even after the holiday season.
“I’m thankful for everything that comes everyday,” Luke Harkless said. “I’m just thankful I can wake up again so I can say I am thankful for God. I’m am thankful for everything he has brought me this far and just thankful for the rest of the stuff he’s going to bring me.”
Thanksgiving break will be from Nov. 21-29. Class will be back in session on Dec. 2.
