Trojan fans get first look at football team during T-Day

TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — Over the weekend, Trojan football fans got their first taste of the upcoming season during Troy Athletics’ annual T-Day.

“This was all about our families, our players. and the fans,” said second year head ball coach Gerad Parker. “My thoughts on today are that it went perfectly. Exactly what we wanted today and certainly happy to have everybody here and appreciate the support.”

Before the Men of Troy took the field, Troy football hosted a kid’s camp and a Lunch with Legends.

“We had over 180 kids out here from ages five to 12 to have an hour with them and have a football camp with them,” Parker told TrojanVision. “We had a brunch this morning and a pregame meal and got to celebrate our family and our players.”

In addition to dawning the cardinal and white for the first time this year, Tae Meadows and DJ Epps were both put on athletic scholarship.

“We’re going to reward the players that serve this university and serve our football team the right way and put them on scholarship when they’ve earned that right and those two guys have earned it,” said Parker. “One of the coolest parts of my job is things like that.”

The Men of Troy open their season inside Veterans Memorial Stadium on Aug. 30 against Nicholls.
