Elite Game Night introduces students to Elite groups

TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — Students had the opportunity to get elite with their playing skills during the Elite Week Game Night.

The Troy University Miss Elite Society and 101 Elite Men came together to hold game night in the Trojan Center as a part of their “Elite Week.”

“We basically want our members to come out and just engage with each other, hopefully make friends, network, and fellowship with others,” said Tyshaun Caldwell, President of 101 Elite Men.

This game night wasn’t solely for members though. Non-members were also invited to come out, have fun and play games like Uno, Phase 10, or Slide in the DMs.

“Hosting game night gives us the oppurtunity to connect more with 101 Elite Men and also connect more with our sweets as well,” said Ashirya Timmons, the Vice President of Miss Elite. “It gives students the oppurtunity to just have fun and have something to do on campus.”

“I think this is a great way to get freshman involved because you got to meet new faces,” said Chloe Cross, a freshman criminal justice major. “Everyone loves a good game of Uno.”

Not only that, but game night also lets people connect with others they may have been to scared to talk to otherwise.

“We push for anyone of any race or any background to get involved in 101 or Miss Elite. It’s a great way to network to gain those skills you need to be successful in the real world,” said Caldwell.

“It’ll help you by meeting new people, and getting comfortable with people that probably share the same interest as you,” said Omarion Johnson, a freshman accounting major.

The Elite groups hope to engage freshman through seniors to come out and have a good time regardless of classification.

Miss Elite members recommend coming to events and talking to executives to get involved with the organization. Elite Men recommend coming to their meetings the first and third Monday of every month in Patterson 101 at 6:30.
