TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — The Lit Happens book club is using its second semester on campus to encourage more students to read.
For around a year now, students and staff have been invited to come to the weekly book club.
“We really just want to be a place for anyone on campus whether they’re a major in bio med, business, anything in marketing can come make new friends with different people and we can just talk about some books that we like,” said Alivia Radovich, a senior English major from Geneva.
There were snacks, random games and talks about the current book, “Six of Crows.”
“I had so much fun with the discussion today,” said Elizabeth Odee, a senior interdisciplinary studies major. “It was very dynamic and we all got to say something it we had a thought about the book we are reading, and I just thought it was a great time.”

Students in the club vote on what books to read, so genres vary depending on the group.
The club gives students the chance to connect over a wide variety of literature, and students are encouraged to come even if they have not read lately.
“Everyone needs someone to talk to, everyone needs a place to belong, a place to come hang out, and when something is as casual as this you can all come together and talk and watch films and just kind of get to make friends, get to know people,” said Katelyn Schuler lecturer of English. “I think that’s super important especially if you are new to troy.”
Meeting are every week in Smith Hall 267.
