TROY, Ala (TROJANVISION) — For over a decade, Christian Mission Center‘s services have not been open in Pike County. Now, they’re opening a store right here in Troy.
The Christian Mission is a nonprofit organization that helps people with emergency needs in South Alabama.
With locations in Enterprise, Elba and Geneva, the Troy location aims to help even more people in the Wiregrass.

“It was such a blessing and joy to have a board that supported our request to find a store, purchase it and open back here in Troy so we can offer that resistance,” said Amanda Simmons, Executive Director of Christian Mission Centers, Inc.

Bargain stores not only sell items at a discount, but they also function as a gateway to ministries and services.
Those services include shelters, a recovery program and an emergency assistance program called Benevolence.
“Pretty much any emergency situation you can imagine, we can assist with,” said Simmons. “Whether that’s rental, utility assistance, medication, gas, furniture, or clothing.”
The Christian Mission will have its ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening on July 30 at 11:30 a.m.
“We’ll have some door prizes and some special sales going on,” Simmons told TrojanVision. “We’re excited about it.”
The Christian Mission already has expansion plans ready with efforts underway to get walk-in fridges. For more information about Christian Mission Centers, visit the organization’s Facebook page here and website here.
