More than a hundred Troy University alumni gathered on Friday, October 3, to celebrate TrojanVision’s 50th anniversary and honor their fellow alumni for their contributions to broadcasting, media, and their respective fields.

James Clower, former Television Manager and Director of Radio and Television served as the guest speaker. The event concluded with a video presentation of TrojanVision through the years. You can watch that video here.

The honorees are as follows:

National Spotlight Award – Melanie Newman, Baltimore Orioles

Local Spotlight Award – Desmond Wingard, WSFA (Montgomery)

Rising Star Award – Rachael Wilkerson, WRTV (Indianapolis) 

Alumni Print Journalist of the Year – Jacob Holmes, Alabama Political Reporter

Alumni TV Journalist of the Year – Josh Guantt, WBRC (Birmingham)

Alumni Audio Journalist of the Year – Katy Ganaway – WLRH (Huntsville)

Alumni Public Relations Professional of the Year – Mikala McCurry, Alabama Securities Commission

Alumni Advertising Professional of the Year – Hunter Beck, WSFA (Montgomery)

Alumni Communication Specialist of the Year – Colvin Prince, Auburn University

Outstanding Alumni Service to the Hall School of Journalism & Communication – Morgan Drinkard, Troy University
