Troy University will celebrate Homecoming on Nov. 7, as the Trojans welcome Sun Belt Conference opponent Louisiana Tech to Veterans Memorial Stadium for a 3 p.m. kickoff.
This year’s Homecoming theme is “Flight 1887,” an homage to the University’s founding in 1887. TROY students and organizations will compete in various activities throughout the week. Organizational competition winners will be announced during the Homecoming game.
Homecoming day will be filled with festivities, beginning with the annual Troy University Homecoming and Appreciation Parade in downtown Troy. The parade, which is set to begin at 10 a.m., is presented by the Pike County Chamber of Commerce.
Following the parade, various alumni groups and colleges will tailgate across campus. The TROY Alumni Association will hold its alumni tailgate beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the Alumni House. The alumni tailgate will be sponsored by Troy Bank & Trust and will feature food provided by Hooks Bar-B-Q in Troy. Admission to the tailgate is free for Alumni Association members and $10 for nonmembers.
The 2026 Homecoming Court will be introduced during pregame activities, and the Homecoming Queen will be crowned during halftime. Also, during halftime, the University will recognize this year’s Alumni of the Year recipients with an on-the-field presentation. This year’s recipients are Dr. Gene Butler (’10, ’12), Tony Harris (’94), Denise Monroe (’82) and Troy Mayor Jason Reeves (’01). Longtime TROY professor and administrator, Dr. Don Jeffrey (’74), will be honored posthumously.
“Each year, we look forward to welcoming our alumni back to campus for Homecoming,” said Faith Byrd, Director of Alumni Affairs. “It is such a special time in the life of our University and provides alumni the opportunity to see how things have changed on our beautiful campus and renew old friendships with former classmates. It is fun time for the TROY family to come together and cheer on the Trojans.”
