The Troy University Alumni Association is celebrating TROY baseball’s historic run to the College World Series with its 2026 Christmas ornament.

The ornament features the script “Troymaha” rallying cry at the top and includes the Power T logo overlaying an image of a baseball with the “NCAA Men’s College World Series 2026” at the bottom. Cost of this year’s ornament is $30.

Now in its 27th year of production, the alumni Christmas ornament has become a prized annual addition to the decorations of TROY alumni and friends. Designed for the TROY Alumni Association by Beacon Design by ChemArt, the ornaments depict special moments throughout the University’s history.

“The baseball team’s run to the College World Series in Omaha was such an exciting accomplishment within the life of our University, and the Alumni Association is so proud to commemorate that historic run with our 2026 Christmas ornament,” said Faith Byrd, Director of Alumni Affairs. “TROY alumni from around the world took great pride in the team’s accomplishment, and by purchasing this year’s ornament, they can continue to relish in that excitement for years to come.”

Byrd and Alumni Association President Jack Weaver presented Coach Skylar Meade and Director of Athletics Kyle George with the ornament earlier this month.

Weaver believes the ornament will serve as a wonderful keepsake for alumni who want to commemorate the excitement of the team’s success in 2026.

“We are so proud of the 2026 TROY baseball team,” Weaver said. “It made alumni from all over the country and the world proud of Troy University as we went to Omaha. There was a big contingent of TROY fans that showed up in Omaha to cheer on our Trojans. We are so excited about the future of our baseball program knowing that we can compete on the highest level and go back to Omaha in the future.”

Coach Meade expressed pride in the baseball program being recognized through the alumni ornament.

“We are certainly proud when our little nook in the world – baseball – gets to represent the University and brings prestige and pride. That honestly is part of the goal,” he said. “To be represented this way is pretty incredible and honestly, a little shocking.”

Meade called making the College World Series “a life-changing experience.”

“Everything is normal, but it’s not,” he said. “Everyone has their connected piece of what it meant to them, and you listen to everyone’s story because it is exciting to hear and exciting for them to share. What is really cool is that our returning players have had no ego about it, which is pretty rare these days and shows that you have guys that are humble. It is a lifechanging experience, but everyone has used it as a positive. It truly creates a different level of momentum for the program.”

George said seeing the outpouring of support for the team from alumni and fans was truly amazing.

“I think about how much having the Super Regional here in Troy meant — so many TROY fans and TROY alums wanted to come back just to experience that opportunity and all of the folks in the outfield who just wanted to be close to the action,” he said. “The coolest part of that experience was the outpouring of support from our fans. Then when we got to Omaha, fans and alumni that we don’t get to see very often came out of the woodwork to be a part of it and attend all the fan socials we had in Omaha. I think this ornament just encapsulates that run and what it meant for our entire alumni network across the country.”

The Alumni Association will host an Octoberfest Ornament sale on Friday, Oct. 16 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Alumni House, 100 Highland Ave. The 2026 ornament can be purchased for $30, and the 2024 and 2025 ornaments can be purchased for $20. Those purchasing ornaments from 2024 – 2026 will have the opportunity to purchase older ornaments for half price.

The Alumni Association will also offer a gameday special buy-one-get-one half-price deal on Saturday, Oct. 17 beginning at 11 a.m. prior to TROY baseball’s exhibition game against Samford at Riddle-Pace Field.
