TROY alumnus Ashley D. Aaron has been named to the Troy University Alumni Association’s Board of Directors.
Aaron graduated in 1993 with honors from Troy State University. As an undergraduate, he was a member of Sigma Chi Social Fraternity, served as a Trojan Ambassador, Pre-College Orientation Leader & Student Director, SGA Vice President, Omicron Delta Kappa Honors Society member and graduating senior “Leader of the Year,” along with several other organizations. Aaron participated in one of the first Capstone Honors’ Leadership Class for graduating honor seniors taught by Troy University Chancellor Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr.
“It is a true honor to serve a university that has meant so much to me over the years, and I am grateful to have the opportunity to give back,” Aaron said. “Seeing the transformation from small regional campuses (Troy State University) to a worldwide institution with a single mission has been incredible. I participated in Dr. Hawkins’ installation as Chancellor and remember Dr. Ralph Adams’ challenge to move TROY forward. I’m excited for what Dr. Hawkins has accomplished and truly looking forward to helping advance TROY’s mission.”
After graduating, Aaron helped establish the Montgomery Metro Alumni Chapter where he served as its Vice President and President. The Chapter was the fastest growing Alumni chapter during his tenure.
Aaron has spoken as Lecturer for both Leadership and Business classes at TROY. He is a member of the Trojan Warrior Club and the TROY Shield Society and is a Lifetime Member of the Troy University Alumni Association. In 2008, he was recognized as an Alumni of the Year by the University.
Aaron and his wife of 24 years, Clay, have two sons, Will and Thomas, who are both Lifetime Members of the Alumni Association.
