The Sorrell College of Business Sorrell 360 Center for Professional Life is hosting an open house week beginning on Jan. 31 and marking the occasion with events all week long, including a special panel of business leaders.
“We are encouraging students, faculty, and staff to stop by all week, and we will be holding a variety of events and other programs related to professional development,” said Dr. Laura Dove, Assistant Dean who leads the Center.
The 360 Center will be located in 155 Lewis Hall, formerly the home to the School of Accountancy.
On Monday, Jan. 31, the Sorrell College Student Organization Expo with free professional head shots for students will take place from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. in Lewis Hall Atrium.
Tuesday features a Resume Review from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. in the Johnson Center Library, and Etiquette Dinner is set for 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in HAL Hall (by invitation only).
The Resume Review continues from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. in the Johnson Center Library on Wednesday.
At 4 p.m., the “It’s All Business” Panel takes place in 129 Lewis Hall featuring five local-area business professionals.
“The event will highlight the relevance of business knowledge and skills in a wide variety of fields and features five outstanding local leaders, including Mayor Jason Reeves. It is being held in conjunction with the Pike County Young Professionals,” Dove said.
Joining Reeves on the panel will be Dr. Eric Law of Southern Health Associates, Joel Lee Williams, a Troy attorney, Adam Drinkwater of Landmark Realty, and Anna Hawkins from the event venue The Emporium.
A Women’s Symposium is Thursday’s focus from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. in the Trojan Center Ballroom, and the events wrap up on Friday with a Career Fair from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. in the Lewis Hall Atrium.
