Troy University has recently announced a new giving society for the College of Arts and Sciences named the Arts & Science Alliance that will be used to support the critical needs of a variety of departments within the College.
Josh Marvin, Director of Development, said the Arts & Science Alliance is comprised of the most elite and faithful donors to the College of Arts and Sciences. The Alliance welcomes donors who give $1,000 or more annually to any fund within the College, while those who have graduated in the last 15 years are eligible through a minimum gift of $500.
“A beautiful part of the TROY experience is that it continues long after shaking Dr. Hawkins’ hand at graduation. Giving has been the catalyst for many of our alumni to rediscover the love they had for TROY, and this society is designed with that in mind,” he said. “I really hope to see new opportunities and relationships born out of the Arts & Science Alliance that can be mutually beneficial for alumni and students alike.”
In addition to helping meet the needs of various departments, funding will be used to aid scholarships for both undergraduate and graduate students and to promote research, lectureships and other opportunities within the College. Annual donors at the Alliance level will receive updates from Dr. Steven Taylor, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, invitations to special events and special annual recognition.
“I am very excited about the new Arts & Science Alliance,” Taylor said. “I think the Alliance will give our alumni a great opportunity to connect back to the great work of the College and give faculty the chance to keep the alumni informed about all their great work.”
Gifts can be made throughout the year to reach the Alliance level and can also be established by signing up for smaller, monthly-recurring donations.
