The assistant director for the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical “Hamilton” will visit and work with Troy University students this weekend.
Patrick Vassel will impart his knowledge on students from the University’s Department of Theatre and Dance on Friday, Nov. 3 and Saturday, Nov. 4.
Vassel will conduct a musical theater master class Friday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Trojan Center Theater, during which students will prepare a 30-second audition cut of a musical theater song and then receive feedback from Vassel.
From 5 to 9 p.m., Vassel will conduct a mock “Hamilton” audition in Long Hall Dance Studio.
Finally, at 10 a.m. Saturday, Vassel will participate in a question and answer session about his journey to Broadway, “Hamilton” and his experiences in the business.
Hailing from Akron, Ohio, Vassel has a distinguished career as a director and a writer, as well as a teacher.
