The assistant director for the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical “Hamilton” will visit and work with Troy University students this weekend.

Vassel will conduct a musical theater master class Friday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Trojan Center Theater, during which students will prepare a 30-second audition cut of a musical theater song and then receive feedback from Vassel.

From 5 to 9 p.m., Vassel will conduct a mock “Hamilton” audition in Long Hall Dance Studio.

Finally, at 10 a.m. Saturday, Vassel will participate in a question and answer session about his journey to Broadway, “Hamilton” and his experiences in the business.

Hailing from Akron, Ohio, Vassel has a distinguished career as a director and a writer, as well as a teacher.
