New advertising campaign highlights Troy University Montgomery’s commitment to River Region

A new advertising campaign, which launched in June, celebrates Troy University Montgomery’s continued and growing commitment to the River Region.

The campaign, developed by Chemistry Atlanta, features two television commercials as well as print, digital and outdoor advertisements. Building on the University’s ongoing Trojan Warrior Spirit campaign, the new advertisements focus on Troy University Montgomery and its service to River Region professionals seeking career development and advancement.

A part of Montgomery since the 1960s, first at Maxwell Air Force Base and later in its current location in downtown, Troy University Montgomery has long been committed to service within the River Region. From its leadership in downtown revitalization to its community outreach through the Rosa Parks Museum, the Davis Theatre for the Performing Arts and the W.A. Gayle Planetarium, Troy University Montgomery has demonstrated its commitment to being a vital part of a growing and thriving region, according to Dr. Lance Tatum, Troy University Montgomery Vice Chancellor. The advertising campaign recognizes that history and celebrates a new and exciting vision of service within the River Region.

“While Troy University has a long history of service in the River Region, this advertising campaign is a celebration of a new look and a new attitude at Troy University Montgomery,” Dr. Tatum said. “With our partnerships with the City of Montgomery, state agencies, and the business community, along with our location in the heart of a revitalized and thriving downtown area, Troy University Montgomery is uniquely positioned to serve working professionals as the region’s center for graduate education. New academic programs and facilities such as our renovated Barnes & Noble Trojan Café are representative of our continued commitment to serving those throughout the River Region seeking career development and advancement.”

The television commercials feature TROY alumnus and graduate student William Filmore in both scenes at Troy University Montgomery and in various locations in downtown Montgomery including Dexter Avenue and the State Capitol.

“I’m fairly new to the city of Montgomery as a resident so it is neat to get plugged in and be able to talk about all of the great things that are happening here and to see them be highlighted,” Filmore said. “It’s a lot of fun to talk about TROY, not only from my undergraduate experience on campus in Troy but now as a graduate student at Troy University Montgomery. I’m proud to be a Trojan.”

Filmore said he was surprised by the amount of work it takes to produce a television commercial.

“It was a lot of fun. I felt like a Hollywood star,” he said. “There were so many folks around making this happen, but it is a lot of fun to see them work and do their jobs.”
