Prospective students and their families got an inside look at the Troy University experience during the Spring Trojan Day event held this past Saturday.

The event began with a browse session at Trojan Arena, where attendees explored various academic programs, student organizations, and campus resources. This was followed by a comprehensive presentation on admissions, scholarships, and housing.

Gus McKenzie, Senior Director of Enrollment Services at Troy University, emphasized the significance of Trojan Day in helping students envision their future at TROY.

“Trojan Day is a great opportunity for students to see the wide array of things that we have to offer here at TROY. They get to meet the people who make this place so special, from our students to our faculty and staff,” he said. “The students and their families also get to tour our beautiful campus. We love welcoming prospective students to campus any time, but Trojan Day is a special tour opportunity that is above and beyond other events.”

Afterward, students and their families had the opportunity to engage with a panel of TROY students and faculty over lunch before concluding the day with a campus tour.

“At Spring Trojan Day, we want students and their families to leave feeling excited and informed about everything TROY has to offer” says Kerry Strickland the Coordinator of Campus Experiences.

“By connecting with academic departments, student organizations, and diving into discussions about admissions, scholarships, and housing, attendees got a feel for what makes TROY such a great place to grow and learn.”

Jeremiah Mueller, a senior from Alabaster, Alabama, attended with his family and shared his experience.

“It’s been really nice to be able to talk to some professors and students, especially since I want to go into nursing. It’s been great to connect with people in that field,” Mueller said. “Also, talking to some of the guys in Greek life has been really nice.”

His parents added that visiting the campus helped ease the transition.

“It’s a comfort to know that he’s coming to a good place, and now that we have been able to see the campus, it is making it a much easier transition as a parent.”

Current TROY student Molly Kate Irwin expressed her enthusiasm for the event.

“I love Trojan Day,” she said. “It’s one of my favorite events of the semester because it’s really fun to see new students and the excitement in their eyes about TROY. It’s great to share the opportunities that can help them grow in their future.”

Harrison Crawford from Huntsville, Alabama, also attended and said the event provided valuable insights.

“I have been interested in TROY, so I came to Trojan Day, and I am enjoying this event,” he said. “I have gotten a lot of helpful information, and everyone I have met has been friendly.”
