Rising high school juniors and seniors from across Alabama are invited to apply for the Trojan Patriot Academy, a dynamic summer leadership program hosted by Troy University in partnership with the American Village. This week-long program, focused on leadership, civics, and U.S. history, offers students the opportunity to deepen their understanding of American democracy and gain valuable leadership skills.

The Trojan Patriot Academy will select a group of rising juniors and seniors from around the state to participate in this immersive, hands-on learning experience. Students will engage in team-building exercises, meet with state leaders, and explore foundational U.S. historical documents such as the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. Through a mix of classroom learning and experiential activities, participants will learn the principles of servant leadership and how to apply them in their schools and communities.

The program will take place on the Troy University campus for the first three nights, followed by a tour of Montgomery’s historic sites. The final two nights will be spent at the American Village in Montevallo, Alabama, where students will continue their educational journey through interactive programs that bring U.S. history to life.

Eligibility and Nominations:

The Trojan Patriot Academy is open to rising juniors and seniors who exhibit leadership potential in both their schools and communities. Nominations may be submitted by legislators, principals, community leaders, parents, teachers, or through self-applications.

Program Costs:
Thanks to the generosity of the American Village Citizenship Trust and Troy University, the full cost of attendance is covered for all selected students, making this program accessible to everyone.
