Troy University has partnered with Arby’s, the fast food sandwich restaurant chain, to “beef” up the scholarship offer for this year’s TROY Prom.
TROY Prom was started in 2020 as a virtual way for students to show off their gowns, tuxedos and moves during the pandemic. Students submitted a TikTok demonstrating a dance, and whoever received the most likes received a $500 scholarship as well as a sash with a crown for the King, and a tiara for the Queen.
With the success of last year’s event, the University and the Trojan mascot T-Roy decided to host it again, with the competition taking place this week.
After seeing this year’s viral videos, Arby’s decided to jump on board by matching the $500 scholarship, bringing the total to $1,000.
The deadline for the contest has now been extended to Wednesday, April 28. Incoming TROY Students can submit a video on Tik Tok using the hashtag #TROYProm.
