The Troy University Arboretum invites the community to gather for a free public screening of a series of environmental-focused short films on Thursday, May 15.

The films come from the Southern Exposure Film Series and showcase issues with rivers, dams and pollution in Alabama, said Arboretum Director and biology professor Dr. Alvin Diamond.

“We would love for the community to come join us at the Arboretum on May 15 to not only see the campus and experience all we have to offer at the Arboretum, but to learn about complex issues facing Alabama’s ecosystems,” Diamond said.

A community mix and mingle and tours of the Arboretum will be held prior to the showing beginning at 5 p.m. The first film will begin at 6:30 p.m., and a Q&A discussion will take place after the last film ends at approximately 8 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.

This event is held in partnership with the Alabama Rivers Alliance, the Choctawhatchee, Pea & Yellow Rivers Watershed Management Authority and the Choctawhatchee Riverkeepers.
