Troy University’s John M. Long School of Music will present the final performances of the 2017-18 academic year by the Symphony Band and Concert Band on Monday and Tuesday.
The TROY Concert Band kicks things off Monday, April 30 with a concert titled “Atmosphere.”
The show starts at 6 p.m. in Claudia Crosby Theater and features works by Gassi, Sheldon, Galante, Whitacre, Saucedo, Balmages, and a world premiere by Tyler Arcari.
TROY’s Symphony Band follows Tuesday, May 1 with its spring concert at 7 p.m. in Claudia Crosby Theater.
This concert features School of Music faculty member and Steinway Artist Dr. Hui-Ting Yang performing Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No. 2.
It also features two world premieres: “Before April” by TROY student M. Joseph Willette and “Symphony No. 3” by Robert Jager.
Admission to both these shows is free.
