Troy University’s Department of Theatre and Dance will present its spring dance concert “Tempo” Feb. 13-16 and Feb. 20-23 at the Trojan Center Theatre.
The production, directed by James L. Boyd III, will feature new and original choreography by guest artists and TROY Dance alumni and faculty.
“Tempo will present you with an evening of fluctuating emotions and energies coupled with strong and captivating dancing,” said Gabby Deaton, Associate Director of Tempo and Senior BFA Dance Major. “This show will take you on a journey from high energy athletic movement to slow and controlled movement. Tempo is an exciting rollercoaster ride that no one is going to want to miss. Tempo brings everything you love about dance into a space of raw human experience.”
Students have had the opportunity to work with guest artists and alumni. Reese Conley, a freshman BFA Dance Major, said that the process has been inspiring.
“I’ve also had so much fun dancing with the upperclassman who I wouldn’t normally see outside of rehearsals,” she said. “I think that there is something for everyone that the audience will enjoy. I hope that those who come to watch ‘Tempo’ are entertained and glad that they got to see such an amazing show!”
Performances will be held on Feb. 13-15 and Feb. 20-22 at 7:00 p.m. and Feb. 16 and Feb. 23 at 2:30 p.m. in the Trojan Center Theatre. Tickets are $10, or $5 with a TROY student ID. They can be bought here or at the Trojan Center box office near Barnes and Noble.
