Troy University is calling all Trojans to support scholarships, athletics and research by contributing to Giving Day on Thursday, Oct. 21.

With the theme “Helping a Generation Lead Change,” the fourth annual giving day has a goal of raising $200,000 in a day.

“Troy University is fortunate to have dedicated alumni and supporters,” said Walter D. Givhan, Senior Vice Chancellor for Advancement and Economic Development. “When our students are in need, they are always there for them. Last year, the Trojan family gave generously on Giving Day, and we exceeded our goal by raising $203,000. I hope we can push even further this year and help our students Lead Change and make a difference in the world.”

All-purpose matching funds of $4,000 provided by generous donors Intermark Group, Tang’s Incorporated, and an anonymous donor will boost donations made during Giving Day. The University will also match gifts of $100 or more with a gift of $100 from the matching funds. In addition, gifts earmarked for the NPHC Plaza project will be matched from $10,000 in matching funds, and alumni Jerry and Mary Williams will match donations earmarked for the Wilson-Williams Student Emergency Fund.

Gifts can be designated to the donor’s area of interest— including scholarships, athletics, academic departments, or student activities.

The best way to contribute to Giving Day is by going online to givingday.troy.edu to make a tax-deductible gift via the secure website. In addition to making a gift, Trojans everywhere can support Giving Day by spreading the word on social media using the hashtag #TROYGivingDay.
