Troy University will salute veterans and members of the military during its Military Appreciation football game at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Saturday.

The Trojans will play host to 15th-ranked Coastal Carolina, and kickoff is set for 11 a.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU.

Troy University’s service to the military dates back to the 1950s, and the University’s commitment to serving the men and women of the United States military has continued to grow through the years through efforts such as TROY for Troops centers, which seek to meet the unique needs of service men and women and their dependents. The Military Appreciation Game has been an annual TROY tradition since 2000.

A flyover featuring a C-130 from the 908th Airlift Wing at Maxwell Air Force Base will take place prior to kickoff.

Special military-themed presentations will be featured on the video boards within the stadium throughout the game, including a check presentation by Lockheed Martin to benefit the TROY for Troops scholarship program and a wreath-laying at the memorial to veterans located on the stadium’s plaza.

The Sound of the South will present a special halftime show, which will include a special salute to military and veterans in attendance. The band will play the service song of each military branch and veterans and active duty members will be asked to stand to be recognized as their song is played.

Troy University is recognizing the commitment and dedication of service men and women and their families throughout the month of November, which is National Military Family Month. The University is waiving application fees throughout November for service families who apply to TROY.
