Troy University has been recognized among the best regional universities in the South, by U.S. News and World Report’s 2024 Best Colleges rankings.

TROY ranked 55th among all regional universities in the South and 23rd among public regional universities in the South. The University also ranked 40th among Best Value School – Regional Universities South.

The rankings, which were released on Monday, consider several factors of academic quality, including graduation and retention rates, social mobility, graduation rate performance, undergraduate academic reputation, student-faculty ratio, and faculty resources, among others.

The latest rankings, now in their 39th year, assessed nearly 1,500 U.S. colleges and universities to assist parents and students in the college selection process.

“At Troy University, the most important thing we do is serve our students,” said Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr. “We want to prepare our students to be competitive in the global marketplace. I believe our commitment to student service and success resonates well with our students and continues to bring TROY national recognition from organizations such as U.S. News & World Report.”

The University’s commitment to serving military-affiliated students earned it the 20th spot in U.S. News’ Best Colleges for Veterans rankings, which recognizes colleges and universities that make pursuing a college education more affordable for veterans and active-duty service members. Nearly 30 percent of TROY’s student body is made up of military-affiliated students.

TROY’s undergraduate business, economics, nursing and psychology programs were also recognized by U.S. News.

The U.S. News & World Report recognition is the most recent ranking to include TROY. Other recent rankings received by the University include:

  • Money’s 2023 Best Colleges,
