Troy University is now accepting applications for the Social Media Ambassador Program, an opportunity designed to give students hands-on experience in social media, digital storytelling, and brand communication while serving as authentic representatives of the TROY experience. Applications are open through August 28

The Social Media Ambassador Program will provide selected students the opportunity to work alongside the University’s Communications and Marketing team to create engaging content that highlights campus life, student experiences, and the stories that make Troy University unique. 

Ambassadors will play an important role in shaping TROY’s digital presence by developing creative content ideas, creating semesterly social media segments, interviewing students, capturing campus events, and sharing the university experience from a student perspective. They will also assist the Communications and Marketing team with university events and campaigns, helping capture moments that connect the TROY community both on campus and online. 

“The goal of this program is to provide students with opportunities to gain experience in a field that continues to shape the way organizations communicate and connect with their audiences,” said Elizabeth Ann Glisson, Troy University Social Media Manager. “From my own experience, I understand how important it is for students to enter the workforce with practical experience they can showcase. This program will allow students to develop their skills while also becoming the voices and storytellers who help shape the way Troy University is represented. They will have the opportunity to connect with fellow students, create engaging conversations, develop new content ideas, and contribute to the stories that highlight the Trojan experience. Our team is excited to welcome this group of students, mentor them, and share the knowledge and skills that will help them grow professionally.” 

Five ambassadors will be selected for this academic year to participate during the fall and spring semesters. Students will gain experience in photography, videography, editing, social media strategy, and digital communication while building a professional portfolio of work. 

In addition to developing valuable career skills, ambassadors will receive exclusive opportunities that recognize their role as official representatives of Troy University. Students will receive ambassador merchandise to help the campus community identify them during events and content coverage, along with access to unique behind-the-scenes experiences, including select university events and athletic experiences. These opportunities allow ambassadors to capture exclusive content while gaining an inside look at the moments that bring the Trojan community together. 

The program is open to on-campus students in good academic standing who are classified as sophomores through first-semester seniors. Ideal candidates are creative, dependable, collaborative, comfortable creating digital content, familiar with current social media trends, and passionate about sharing the Troy University experience.
