The hundreds of graduates who walked across the Trojan Arena stage during last week’s three-part commencement ceremony knew they were taking part in a unique event in Troy University history.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing measures and masks were implemented, and three different ceremonies were held.

Troy University will celebrate graduates from the spring and summer semesters during three ceremonies in Trojan Arena on July 24.

Former Student Government Association President Morgan Long will provide the keynote address at Troy University’s Spring/Summer Commencement Exercises on July 24.

Three separate ceremonies will be held in Trojan Arena this year, due to COVID-19 restrictions. Guests are limited to two per graduate and they must escort the graduate into the arena.

Determination, perseverance and faith will take graduates of Troy University to the places they want to be, Rosolyn “Roz” Durden told Troy University graduates during her keynote address at commencement exercises for the Phenix City Campus and Fort Benning.

Some 150 students received their degrees Friday, Jan. 24 in the Columbus Convention and Trade Center.
