This is International Education Week at Troy University, a time for the school to show off why it’s known as Alabama’s International University.
Wednesday afternoon the John Lewis Quad was filled with opportunities for students to experience different cultures of the world without having to leave the campus.
Students had the chance to learn about Japanese calligraphy and origami through hands-on demonstrations.
However the highlight of Wednesday’s event was the annual photo contest which had hundreds of pictures taken from around the world by TROY students on display.
“This photo contest we have been doing for over 15 years and we always have a great turnout,” says Associate Dean of International Student Services Maria Frigge. “The last couple years we’ve had over 200 pictures turned in so it’s great to see all the students that participate.”
