The Small Business Development Center at Troy University is looking to hire part-time consultants to work with area small businesses and entrepreneurs.
The SBDC looking to hire both experienced and student consultants so there are opportunities for students and alumni to receive training to become consultants.
“So we’re hiring two types of consultants,” says SBDC Director Juliana Bolivar. “One would be experienced consultants that have had their own firm or their accounting firm that have some background. We’re also hiring student trainees in our SBDC consultant training program which is basically hands-on training for students in business majors or even minors, accounting, business administration, that are interested in learning what a consultant does.”
The SBDC helps entrepreneurs and small businesses by providing management and technical assistance to startups in almost every industry. Bolivar says they are looking for people that can help contribute to that mission.
“If you are an experienced consultant trying to join our team we hope that you have had some experience as consultant or small business owner,” says Bolivar. “I love that business owners can share their journey with other people trying to get started. In terms of student consulting, really we want to get the enthusiasm and the energy of someone to join our team and learn from us.”
