Troy University’s International Arts Center offers new family art event with ArtSPARK.

Troy University‘s International Arts Center opened its doors to a younger audience with its first ever ArtSPARK event on Saturday.

The community involvement event gave children the chance to explore what the IAC offers through a variety of activities geared toward teaching them about the arts.

Children learned to tie-dye, blew bubbles, and went on a visual scavenger hunt through the museum galleries.

“These are going to be monthly,” says IAC Curator Carrie Jaxon. “We are going to have an art activity that families can come and do together. We really wanted to offer more to our community and just open our doors and invite people in.”

The next ArtSPARK event is scheduled for August 7th.
