All four of Troy University’s campuses in Alabama have been awarded the Tree Campus Higher Education designation by the Arbor Day Foundation.
The award is given to colleges who recognize effective forest management and campus upkeep.
“That program on campus is a reflection of decades of commitment to the university here to green and just improve our campus from a beautification perspective,” says Physical Plant Director Mark Salmon. “Really the heart and the soul behind that really goes back to our first lady, Mrs. Hawkins, and the Chancellor that support this initiative. They have just been, from day one when they came here, all about doing what we can to improve the beauty and the overall attraction of what we enjoy here at Troy University.”
