Troy University‘s English department celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with the 71st English Forum where students shake off their nerves and present their choice of literature, this month focusing on Hispanic authors.
“This was a part of a series of events that we have we’ve been doing this since I think 2008 actually where we have just a group of people students faculty come together and talk about something that is interesting to us,” says English Professor Ben Robertson.
This month participants focused on pieces of writing by Hispanic authors and recite popular poems excerpts and original pieces of work in Spanish, English or both.
“I’m a minor in Spanish, major in English so it was really neat today to be able to cross over both of those parts of my degree,” says participant Cara Brown.
