Troy University fraternities show support for local health care workers.

Members of Troy University‘s Interfraternity Council stood at the entrances of Troy Regional Medical Center to honor the nurses, doctors and staff who have been at the forefront of the coronavirus pandemic for the past 18 months.

The S.T.A.N.D.S project, which stands for Showing The Appreciation For Nurses Doctors And Staff, was put in place to celebrate the faculty of the medical center included encouraging signs and cheers for nurses as they walked into their shift.

“It meant a lot to the health care workers who have been going through a rough time this is so important for us,” says TRMC CEO Rick Smith. “I mean we’ve been through 20 months of the most incredible, challenging times in the history of medicine and to have the community support that we’re seeing with the IFC is is nothing short of amazing. Our team is physically tired and emotionally tired but having the support of these folks is really important to us.”
