A unique take on photography was celebrated by the International Arts Center as a reception was held to honor the work of Troy University art professor Will Jacks.
Thursday night’s reception of “Absolute Rest” explores the idea that living things are never truly at rest.
According to the artist Will Jacks, he combines the scientific idea of absolute rest with art to create something intriguing.
“The work is also about objects that are at rest but each of these prints actually has some element of it that’s constantly changing as well,” says Jacks. “So there was a connection between the idea of whether we ever really are at true rest though the subjects in the photographs are stationary as time goes by elements in these photos change successfully exploring the idea that nothing is truly at rest.”
