Troy University celebrated International Women’s Day with an event that highlighted the arts and the many cultures represented on campus.
Troy University’s College of Communication and Fine Arts brought an evening of music, poetry and art to the International Arts Center with “Eyes, Mind and Music: An Artistic Celebration of Women.”
The audience was treated to an evening of music, poetry and art provided by female Troy University professors.
“Today is International Women’s Day and it’s important that we mark the occasion,” says Performer and English Professor Priya Menon. “Especially at Troy University because we celebrate not just women but also international students here. So it’s only fitting that we celebrate a day like International Women’s Day. It’s relevant because we have so many brilliant women on campus and this is a great opportunity for all of us to come together celebrate the arts.”
