Trojan Volleyball falls to Crimson Tide during five set thriller

TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — Trojan Volleyball‘s home opener was against none other than the Alabama Crimson Tide.

The Trojans came into the match with a 1-7 record compared to the Tide’s 8-1 record. Head Coach Josh Lauer said it was a test of who would fold first.

We had a chance to really take control of the match and Alabama did a good job of not folding,” Lauer said. “Kudos to them, their players and their coaches for really scrapping and battling and putting pressure on us.”

Although the Trojans fell to the Tide, Trojan Arena was filled with Trojan fans ready to support their volleyball team.

“I thought that our atmosphere tonight was great,” Lauer said. “Fans were fantastic tonight for an in-state rivalry match that was super fun. Two teams really getting after it.”

The Trojan Volleyball Team is currently sitting with a 1-8 record. The team’s next match is set for Friday, Sep. 15 at 6 p.m.
