TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — Students painted pumpkins to mark the arrival of the Fall season.
The University Activities Council (UAC), Freshman Forum, and the Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) Sorority hosted a pumpkin painting event.
Students channeled their creativity on orange and white pumpkins.
“This is a part of the Enhance Our Environment initiative so we thought that this would be a great way and a fun way to get the students involved and be able to fellowship with them,” said AKA President Kayla Boley.
Some students worked in groups while others worked independently. Themes included Marvel colors, DC characters, skeletons and the iconic TROY figure, T-Roy.
“We’re doing donut-themed pumpkins and we are a trio so we’re going to each have different colors,” explained sophomore Ariel Smith. “It’s going to be pink, white, and chocolate. We just chose them together because we wanted to unify our friendship and our pumpkins.”
Students were also given the option to enter their freshly-painted pumpkins into a contest.
This year’s winners were:
1st Place: Lilian Shacklee
2nd Place: Em Lucas
