Hot vs. Cold: Students give mixed reactions to colder temperatures

TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — For the first time in months, students were wearing long pants, sweatshirts, and even heavy coats as cooler temperatures settled in Troy.

This is a drastic change from just a few days ago when students were going to class in shorts and t-shirts.

TROY student Nicholas Locklar is in favor of the cold.

“Oh, I love it,” Locklar said. “I love the cold weather. Coming from like a really dry, desert climate, it’s just like, a nice change in pace, and I just like it.”

Others students do not share his opinion.

“I do not like it at all,” explained student Zoey Williams. “I hate the cold weather actually. I just wish we didn’t have cold weather, because like, with my sinuses, it just makes it real bad and I have asthma, so it just makes it a lot worse. I just don’t like the cold.”

“Definitely going from where I can just wear shorts and be sweating to wearing shorts and freezing to death is not in my best interest,” said Student Ambassador Jansten Pruitt.

One student has a plan to deal with this cold.

“Definitely going to put on more layers, and better socks,” said student Anna Parish.

One thing most students can agree on is the cold weather threw them for a loop.

“I didn’t prepare very well today, so I’m a little cold,” Parish told TrojanVision.

Whether you’re team cold weather or team warm weather, only time can tell if these cold temperatures are here to stay.
