IAC and Long School of Music to host ‘Cosmic Harmonies’ performance

TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — Troy University is preparing for a performance meant to honor local artist Fred “Nall” Hollis and late composer Robert W. Smith.

Friday afternoon the John M. Long School of Music and the International Arts Center (IAC) will feature Dr. Jillian Camwell (oboe) and Dr. Hui-Ting Yang (piano) performing “Cosmic Harmonies” for oboe and piano by the late Robert W. Smith.

The event will allow audience members to sit amongst three artworks by Fred “Nall” Hollis that inspired Smith’s oboe concerto. Each movement will be introduced by IAC Director and Curator, Carrie Jaxon, and Camwell.

Cosmic Harmonies is set for Friday, Dec. 1 at 1 p.m. inside the IAC’s Nall Gallery. Admission is free and open to the public. A reception is set to follow the performance.
