SGA hosts Faculty and Staff Egg Hunt

TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — The Easter Bunny took a break from its usual duties this time of year to pay a visit to Troy University.

The Student Government Association (SGA) invited Troy University faculty and staff’s children to an Easter Egg Hunt.

“It’s a day where faculty can come out here with their children, and have an Easter egg hunt during you know the week of Easter,” said Burnard Thomas, an event organizer with the SGA. “It’s an event for them to come out and have fun, and have a good time finding some Easter eggs.”

The children of faculty and staff scoured Janice Hawkins Park. It only took about 10 minutes for all the eggs to be found.

Although the egg hunt did not last long, there were other events for families to enjoy, such as taking pictures with the Easter Bunny, and face painting.

The event allows for faculty and their families to enjoy being together while having some fun.

“My family [is] really excited to come to this event we’ve done it for the past two years” said Preston Pritchett, a professor with the Sorrell College Of Business. “We have a 16-month-old little boy and he was very excited to get to go hunting for the eggs. It’s a really great opportunity to come on campus and it’s a lot of fun to be around other colleagues and families and friends, that we have and celebrate this holiday, and also have some fun for the children.”

The egg hunt was not only for faculty with children. Students who have children were also encouraged to attend.
