International Arts Center welcomes guest artist


TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — Thursday, the International Arts Center (IAC) held an art show for one of its international artists.  

The show was held in three parts so patrons who attended the event could see artist’s work in different sections.  

Pieces ranged from calligraphy to simple hand paintings and patterns. 

“Each piece has a different meaning,” said artist Yifeiou Yang. “I hope that everyone has a different understanding of each piece.”  

From simple calligraphy messages to collective intricate designs, each piece and part of the art show had its had own collective meaning.

“Get this exhibition to people in Troy to get to know China, especially traditional China and Chinese art,” Yang explained.

Chris Stagl, one of the event organizers, told TrojanVision he hopes people can get a better understand of Yang’s art and the hard work that goes into it. 

“I hope that people gain a broader understanding and capacity  to appreciate art from China and the passion that our visiting artists they have for their craft.” 

According to its website, the mission of the IAC is to promote artistic enlightenment, cultural exchange and personal well-being for the Troy University community and beyond through University initiatives and collaborative partnerships, both local and international.
