SGA highlights both Troy Football and Breast Cancer Awareness Month

TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — Wednesday the Student Government Association (SGA) hosted a pep rally in honor of both Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Troy vs Texas State game.

“This event was a pep rally to cheer on our Trojans,” said Bella Brothers, SGA Chairwoman of Spirit and Traditions. “We really wanted to do something creative where we did bringing light to breast cancer awareness. We wanted everyone to wear neon and wear pink to show support in something a lot of people face, that is really hard and emotional.”

The theme was “Bringing Light to Breast Cancer,” which was meant to show support for people who are currently fighting cancer, those who have passed from it and those who are in remission.

“We also support things that are greater than ourselves and by having this pep rally, we brought awareness, and showed that we do care things like breast cancer,” Brothers explained.

The SGA is now preparing for its annual Fall Blood Drive, which will be held Oct. 7th and 8th on Troy’s campus.
