TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — Although its spring season is still a few months away, a preseason ranking has the Trojan baseball team on its list.
Prior to first pitch, news reached the team that D1Baseball.com‘s Top 100 Programs ranking included Troy Baseball at number 65.
“You see where it’s gone over the last couple years, I think that speaks volumes to where it’s going but it doesn’t mean we’ve arrived either, we still have a lot of work to do,” Head Coach Skylar Meade said.
Since Meade took the helm, the Trojans have developed a target on its back. The Trojans are following a season where they earned an at-large berth to the NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional.

“Every game we play matters because we’re playing for larger things,” Meade said. “To me that’s a privilege that you have entering this program, but you better respect that privilege if you want to thrive in this program.”
Although the Trojans have seen recent success, the team fears the kiss of death: complacency.
“To me that’s special part about our program, is we have no patience,” Meade told TrojanVision. “We’re trying to get there really fast but we have a great time doing it.”
The Trojans take on Northwest Florida State at home on Friday, Oct. 18.
