Theatre department’s Page to Stage sells out before first show

TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — The Theatre Department is preparing for its second production, Page to Stage.

Any production means a lot of time rehearsing lines, dances and perfecting the show. This is also an opportunity to bring the characters to life.

“The seniors that are working on their directing skills in their classes and it’s just a really good way to see what we’ve been working on in the department and to showcase the skills that we have been harvesting here just throughout rehearsal processes,” sophomore Sadie Glawson said. “It’s just a good way to see the individual talent of our directors.”

Senior actor Will Corbitt told TrojanVision he overcame his own set of challenges during the production process.

“This process has been really challenging due to the fact that I’m not use to this kind of dramatic acting, but I’m very excited for people to see it and I hope I do my director proud.”

Corbitt is now encouraging the student body and local community to see the show.

“I think people should come to Page to Stage because we have been working on it for a few months and it is a great way to see the artistic endeavors of the people. I feel the audiences will enjoy the show, their is a lot of variety and a little bit of something for everyone.”

Glawson also encourages all non-major students to audition for at least one theatrical production during their time at Troy.

“Everyone has a lot more acting ability then they think they do and its really really awesome to watch people blossom in a space like this”.

Page to Stage runs Oct. 25-27. at 7 p.m. As of this report, all shows are sold out.
