Troy baseball wins series against ULM

TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — Troy baseball continued its nine-series win streak against the Warhawks, improved to a 28-12 record, and now places second in the Sun Belt.

The Trojans shined on the plate, racking up 34 total hits across the series.

Second baseman Steven Meier led the charge with six hits. First baseman Blake Cavill and Right Fielder Gavin Schrader also contributed with two multi-run homers.

Night two’s 11-1 blowout was led by pitcher Noah Edders who struck out nine hitters and only gave up four hits.

While Troy secured the series in the first two games, it fell short 7-3 in game 3.

“Like I tell them all the time, we have a lot of transfers in here, and every game matters here at Troy,” said Head Coach Skylar Meade. “That’s been standard ever since we got here. It’s not contrary to some places you maybe came from, our games all matter and that’s why today’s so disappointing for a multitude of reasons.”

The Trojans hope to get back in the win column Tuesday night when they face the Alabama State Hornets in Montgomery.

“We’ll get back to practice Monday then we’ll hop on that bus Tuesday, and they better be ready to get after it,” Meade told TrojanVision.

Tuesday’s game will start at 6 p.m. Fans can listen here.
