Jiselle Daniels and Elsa Stedman shine during matchup with Southeastern Louisiana

TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — The soccer team continued to open its season in dominating fashion as it defeated Southeastern Louisiana Lions three to nothing on Friday.

Jiselle Daniels got the party started with the goal in the seventh minute. They’ll open up the game and make the score one to zero. Shortly after, Daniels scored another goal in the 31st minute to make it two to nothing. Daniels is the first Trojan since 2014 to have two multi-goal games in a season. Troy continued its dominance with a shut out in the second half and added another goal off a header from Elsa Stedman.

“Scoring in the first ten minutes pepped us up definitely,” said head coach Stuart Gore. “Every time we went forward, we create an opportunity that it was going to look like a goal scoring opportunity.”

The Trojans were able to make adjustments in the second half to continue a dominant performance.

“Being a bit more cautious in the way we press them and and and trying to trying to force turnovers and stuff like that,” Gore said. Trying not to to run our legs out of us, and trying to conserve energy in the second half knowing that they were going to come at us.”

The Trojans now look ahead to their next game.

“I think we got to get prettier and stop panicking on the ball, so we can play away out of pressure instead of just kicking out of pressure.”

The win against the Lions marked the Trojan second straight win.
