TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — Some Troy students may now have the opportunity to win a $7,500 scholarship after the Miss Troy University interest meeting.

Several young hopefuls gathered together in the admissions building for the Miss Troy University interest meeting. Money isn’t the only thing on the table for these potential candidates as winning also means becoming a school symbol.

Co-director of Miss Troy University Pageants Angie Grice said not only will the winner earn a $7,500 scholarship, she will be able to represent the university in larger pageants as well.

“She will be the representative that we will send to, obviously, Miss Alabama since we are a Miss America preliminary. We really want somebody that loves Troy and that is involved and is willing to promote Troy for us.”

Reigning Miss Troy University Anna Grace Tucker shared how being Miss Troy University has changed her life.

“When I did my first pageant, my parents just saw the growth and who I had become and I was like, ‘well, I’ll keep doing some more’,” Tucker said. “It has changed my life.

“It’s really sweet when different organizations ask me to do things and it it just makes me feel like, oh, I’m doing great as Miss Troy University. They want me to come to their organizations and speak and to just be with them.”

There will be another Miss Troy University interest meeting Thursday, Sep. 17 at 4 p.m. in the Admissions Buildings.
