TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — Since the start of her career at Troy, Kady Schwietz has been breaking records on the track. 

Coming from an Athletic family, Schweitz’s mother and sister ran track and field as well, with her sister eventually being one of her coaches, a dynamic that Schweitz says has helped her journey.   

“I’m extremely grateful for her and the work she’s put into me, and just us being able to feed off of each other,” Schwietz said. 

“I think it’s pretty special to be able to work with your family like that, especially my sister, she went to Troy and she set records, so I had her to look up to and kind of inspire me and motivate me.”

Schweitz has competed primarily as a Multi, breaking Troy’s program record for the Pentathlon in 2024 and 2025. She says that her favorite meet was at the 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships, where she not only set the Troy record but also earned first place in the competition. 

“When I crossed the line, I had jumped from third to first and that was one of my favorite moments,” Schwietz said. “I jumped on my sister, or my coach. It was just awesome.” 

This year, though, Schwietz plans to focus primarily on the 800m event, something she has never had the opportunity to do before. 

“I am very excited to see how that goes,” Schwietz said. “I know Coach Davis, I trust him and I know he’s an awesome coach so we have big goals.” 

Even when switching gears and entering her fifth year, Schwietz feels like there’s still work to be done. 

“I come back every fall and feel a bit more powerful,” Schwietz said. “I still have more to accomplish, so I feel like I’m here to get a job done.” 

Schwietz has been known to cross over into cross country as well, most recently earning a top 75 finish during the 5000m event at the JSU Foothills Invitational. In order to see some more of her results in Track and Field, you can see them here.
