TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — Almost two weeks after Troy’s Pi Kappa Phi fraternity was suspended from the university, TrojanVision got a chance to get an account of the events from a member of the fraternity.
The member chose to speak anonymously.
The night began as a big/little reveal. It soon turned into a celebration where members of all ages, including those who are underage, began drinking
“He threw up into his cup then onto the floor, a few minutes later he slipped, he fell and hit his head,” said the brother.
That’s when the brothers began concussion protocol
“We asked his name, where he’s from, what does it mean if cats and dogs are raining and he answered all of them fine. We sat him down and fed him, we didn’t strip him naked.
“We actually left his underwear on but we did give him a shower because of the throw up on him. We didn’t want him to go to sleep with throw up on him.”

That’s when the brother said things took a turn.
“He wasn’t talking back, he had a weak pulse, so at that point when he wasn’t responding back we called the EMT because we were worried.
“We didn’t know what to do.”
Once emergency services arrived, the pledge was taken to Troy Regional Medical Center. Since that night, the fraternity has undergone an investigation by the Troy University Police Department, been banned and members have been forced to move off of fraternity row.
During that time, several different stories began circulating online, but the brother TrojanVision talked to says many of those accounts don’t tell the full story.
“Nobody forced him to drink. We didn’t duct tape his hands.
“It was completely his choice.”
One point of conflict was the covering of cameras in the fraternity house, leading to what this brother called a lack of hard evidence.
“The only thing they have hard evidence of is them with blindfolds going up the stairs. That’s when they started making their accusations.
“Were you doing this to them? Pushed him down the stairs, psychological torture.”
The Pi Kapp brother says that despite what took place, the safety of the pledge became the top priority.
“The situation we put ourseleves in was crappy but I feel like they handled it perfectly well to make sure he was safe.”
The brother says the fraternity never intended to hurt anyone
“It wasn’t nothing I wouldn’t want done to me.”
Now, over two weeks later, our source says many of the fraternity’s brothers have taken accountability for that night and remain in good standing with the affected pledge.
“He still stays in contact with us, we still contact him. He feels bad because he feels like its his fault.
“Nobody is blaming him. We know we messed up, it’s not like we are oblivious to that.”
TrojanVision will continue following this story and will update if more information is released.
