Troy University alumna Christy Pittman has been named the Coordinator of Membership with Troy University’s Office of Alumni Affairs.
As Coordinator of Membership, Pittman will be responsible for managing and developing all alumni chapters and chapter events, assisting in bi-annual leadership conferences, promoting alumni programs within the chapters and special Alumni Association events, recruiting new Alumni Association members, and serving as a liaison between alumni chapters and the Office of Enrollment Management in the recruiting of prospective students.
“The Alumni Board of Directors has set some ambition goals for the Alumni Association, and I am confident that Christy will help us meet those goals and continue to grow engagement among our TROY alumni,” said Faith Byrd, Director of Alumni Affairs.
Pittman earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing and business administration in 1992 and a master’s in special education in 1996.
Pittman has worked in the insurance industry for the last 20 years. Since June 2020, she has served as Office and Customer Services Manager at Bryant Smith State Farm Agency. From 2000 to 2020, she served as a Licensed Insurance Producer with Beckett State Farm Agency in Troy.
From 1996 to 1999, Pittman served as a special education teacher with Troy City Schools.
Pittman and her husband, TROY alumnus Julius Pittman, reside in Troy with their daughter Carys.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to serve my alma mater as the new membership coordinator for the office of alumni affairs,” Pittman said. “I take great pride in my University, and I look forward to working closely with alumni and our local chapters as we seek to continue to move Troy University forward.”
