Confucius Institute holds appreciation luncheon in Dothan

The Confucius Institute at Troy University held an appreciation luncheon Monday at the Dothan Campus for faculty, staff and students.

Dothan Campus Vice Chancellor Dr. Don Jeffrey provided opening remarks, after which those in attendance enjoyed catered Chinese food.

Established in 2007, the Confucius Institute at Troy University is a public institution affiliated with the Chinese Ministry of Education and is charged with bringing the people of Alabama knowledge of China that will serve the state in the areas of business, education, cultural, and public interests throughout the state of Alabama.

Among the institute’s activities are weekly trips to local schools to teach children about Chinese culture.
